Depart Sharp School: 7pm, Friday, 18 December
Return Sharp School: 2pm, Sunday, 20 December
Location: Appalachian Trail, PA Section 5, Hwy 183 to Eagles Nest Shelter.
Directions: From Sharp School turn left onto Old Orchard. Turn left onto NJ Hwy 70, cross Ben Franklin Bridge into Phila, follow Vine Street Expressway (I-676W); join Schulkyll Expressway (I-76W) to PA Turnpike Northeast Extension (I-476N) northbound. At Allentown (Exit 56) after paying toll, get onto I-78/US 22 westbound toward Harrisburg. At Exit 19, turn right onto PA Hwy 183N. Approximately 2-1/2 miles north, at end of left 90 deg curve is a "Welcome to Game Lands" sign. Dirt road immediately in front of sign, leads to Game Lands parking lot. If you miss the dirt road, you will notice the Appalachian Trail markers on either side of the road at the crest of the ridge.
To reach the PICK UP POINT, from I-78 Exit 7, turn right onto PA Hwy 183. Follow 8/10 mile. Turn right onto Bloody Springs Road. Approximately 2½ miles along Bloody Springs Road, you will come to a T-intersection. Turn right and follow road 6/10 mile around field to stop sign. Continue approximately 3½ miles to Northkill Road, turn left. Follow approximately 6/10 mile crossing a narrow bridge. Bear left and go approximately1/2 mile to Game Lands parking lot.
